Two Things You Can Do To Protect Yourself Against The Frustration of Losing Your Motorcycle Keys

Posted by George on

The first thing to do is write down your key code in a safe place. Key codes are used to generate a new key in the event you lose your original keys. A good place to store the key code is in the motorcycles owners manual. There is usually a place in the owners manual for notes where you can write down the key code. Key codes are almost always either stamped on the key that came with the new motorcycle or written on a label included with the key. Some motorcycle manufacturers will stamp the key code on one or more of the motorcycle locks, but its usually hidden from view on newer motorcycles and requires removing the lock to see the key code.

The next thing you can do is take your original key to a store that makes keys and have it duplicated to a couple of new key blanks. Place the new key blanks in a safe place for storage so you have them if you ever lose your motorcycle keys.

Doing these two things will protect you from misplacing or losing your motorcycle keys.

In the event you do lose all your motorcycle keys, you can come to carlocksandkeys.com for new motorcycle key blanks, and we can generate new motorcycle keys for you if you have your key code. If you don't see the correct key blanks for your motorcycle, then contact us and we might be able to find the correct key blank and order it for you. Contact carlocksandkeys.com if you have any questions.

Thanks!
