Location Of The Key Code On A Honda VTX 1300 And Honda VTX 1800

Key codes for both the 2001-2009 Honda VTX 1800 and 2002-2009 Honda VTX 1300 are found on one or more locks on the motorcycle. I believe you will always find a key code on the ignition lock, but you must remove the lock to see the key code. This is true for any lock your working with on a Honda VTX motorcycle including the gas cap lock. The easiest lock to check is the gas cap lock, but it requires a key to remove the lock. The key code is stamped on the side or bottom of the gas cap lock.

Key codes for the Honda VTX models will start with the letter A, B, C or D, followed by two numbers. Example B43 is a Honda VTX key code. Notice in the photo's below that the key code is the last three characters in a six character string.
