How To Find The Key Code On A Honda Shadow Motorcycle

Posted by George on

You can find the key code on many Honda Shadow motorcycle's stamped on one or more locks on the bike. A lot of times you won't know which lock has a key code stamped on it, so it's always best to start with the easiest lock first. I would start by checking the bottom of the stock, lockable gas cap, then move to the helmet lock than the ignition lock. Some full dress touring motorcycles will stamp the key code on the lock used to lock the saddle bags and trunk bag luggage.

The photo below shows the key code stamped on the ignition lock from a 1992 Honda VT600 Shadow VLX motorcycle. The key code is B88. You can see that the lock was removed in order to see the key code. The key code is usually part of a larger string of characters as you can see in the photo, and will usually be the last 3 characters. Many Honda motorcycle key codes have the format: letter, number, number. Older Honda motorcycles before 1983 have a key code format of number, number, number.

Remember, if you need Honda motorcycle keys cut to your key code you can find that service at carlocksandkeys.com at a reduced price. Contact us if you have any questions, sales@carlocksandkeys.com
