This purchase includes a OEM Ignition Lock for a 2001-2005 Mazda Tribute. Included with this lock are OEM non-transponder key(s). Your vehicle does use a transponder system, and does use a transponder key, so you need to 1 of 2 things after purchasing this lock:

1) Purchase a new transponder key, and use a key included with this new lock to duplicate the cuts to the new key, then install the new lock, and have your vehicle configured to recognize the new key. Configuring your vehicle to recognize the new transponder key doe requires a special tool to talk to your cars computer. A local locksmith that does automotive locks and keys, or your car dealership will have this tool.

2) Purchase a new clone-able transponder key and have your working key cloned to this new key, then use a key included with this new lock to duplicate the cuts to the new clone-able key.

Buying a new clone-able transponder key is usually a less expensive option than #1. However, an even less expensive option is to send your working transponder key to us, so we can clone it and setup the new lock for you, then all you need to do is install the new lock when you receive it, and your ready to go.
